Lee Street Church, Horley Surrey

Lee Street Church Play Group

Introduction
This is a church run playgroup, promoting Christian values, and is welcoming to those of all faiths and religions.  The staff offer Early Years Education for children from 2½ years to 4+ years, regardless of race or culture.

A high standard of education is provided, including extensive activities which involve both learning and play within the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum. The aim is to ensure that all children in the group reach their full potential in preparation for their entering into school.

Curriculum
This is based upon Early Years Foundation Stage which covers the ages from birth to the end of Reception Year in school. The six areas of learning are Personal, Social & Emotional Development; Communication, Language & Literacy; Mathematical Development; Knowledge & Understanding of the World; Creative Development; and Physical Development.

Organisation
The Playgroup is run by a fully qualified Manager, with two qualified assistants and two assistants under training. It is open 4 mornings a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday) in term-time for the following hours:

  •  9.15am to 12 noon (2½ years to 3 years)
  •  9.15am to 1pm (3 years to 4+ years)

The Group has a maximum of 24 children per morning. The 3+ years children stay for lunch as part of the morning session, and parents are expected to provide food for their child.

Fees / Funding
The rate from September 2011 is £11.00 per session.
Government funding is available for all children from the term after they become 3 years old.
The fees are required to be paid monthly in advance. No reimbursement will be given for holidays or sickness.
